Lodging Ideas

One has several lodging options in Southern West Virginia. One the best bets would be Glade Springs Resort (see Glade Springs page). We are able to get discounts at Glade which makes the rate comparable say to the Hampton Inn. With a myrid of ammenities, Glade a great place to stay and also serves as a mini vacation. If you want something more rustic, we have a relationship with The New River Preserve and they will occationally offer up one their log cabins...Pipestem State Park is another place we'd reccomend if you want to get a feel for the outdoors...There are many more options but it just depends on how "woodsy or sophisticated" you want to get.

Dining

There are some hidden gems when it comes to food in Southern West Virginia. One of our favorite restaurants in the whole world resides at a local State Park. If you're in the mood for something casual, Beckley offers up plenty of chained restaurants like Chili's, Outback and the Cracker Barrell's...If you looking for something 'Special", we have plenty of neat options as well...For example, the Char is a Beckley classic and serves up some fine steaks. Want something quarky, head to Lewisbug and check out Stardust Cafe or Julian's...Want a gourmet pizza? travel up to Fayetteville to Pies and Pints and you'll see why we make that trek quite often..

Southern West Virginia offers world-class adventure activities. Known for our rivers where you can raft, boat and fish – southern West Virginia also offers spectacular hiking, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, caving, ATVing, golfing and more.

Having four distinct seasons, winter brings us lots of snow, great downhill and cross country skiing and snow tubing.

How about some shopping!! Go antiquing, visit a local art gallery, or enjoy one of our many unique specialty shops offering everything from local souvenirs to handmade arts and crafts. Motorcycle shops are set up to cater to the riders who tour our wonderful (and curvy) West Virginia roads and outdoor shops handle all of your gear needs for hiking, biking, climbing and more.
